Over the weeks, the timer's website has slowly changed - first with the addition of Madotsuki, the game's player character, in the lower left corner - which linked to two mysterious teasers - and later with a Yume Nikki: Dream Diary logo added at the top. Original story below.Įarlier this month, Japanese game distributor AGM Playism released the original Yume Nikki on Steam, on the same day a timer associated with Kadokawa began counting down to a new Yume Nikki project. According to its Steam page, "YUMENIKKI -DREAM DIARY- was created under total supervision and with unmitigated cooperation from the original creator, Kikiyama himself." More information will be revealed on January 31. In the language box on Steam, English and Japanese are marked as available languages for the interface, but "full audio" and "subtitles" remain unchecked, which could mean Yume Nikki: Dream Diary will contain no dialogue, just like the 2004 original. It will launch on Steam and Playism on Februfor $19.99.ĭetails about the game are scarce, but based on screenshots and information posted on its official website and Steam page, it appears to be a 3D adventure game that "combines influences from the original game and other recent indie juggernauts." It will feature returning characters as well as characters creator Kikiyama cut from the original Yume Nikki.
